Dani Burke

Danielle Burke is currently pursuing her Masters in Folklore at the University of North Carolina: Chapel Hill and is a 2022 Center for Craft Career Advancement Fellow. She was awarded a Windgate Fellowship in 2015 after graduating with a dual BFA in Fiber and Humanistic Studies from the Maryland Institute College of Art the same year. Her woven work has been shown at the Asheville Art Museum, the Mint Museum (Charlotte, NC), and at other sites both nationally and internationally. By using a making practice, ethnography, and archival research, her academic and studio-based scholarship is interested in the co-authorship of objects and the story-telling ability of textiles.
