Throughout the holiday season, Sawtooth School for Visual Art has long been a destination for showcasing quality, handmade works crafted by regional artists. The tradition continues this year with Sawtooth Spotlight: Holiday Market + Juried Exhibition, a year-end celebration of fine art, craft, and community featuring one-of-a-kind artworks perfect for holiday gift-giving.

Within the Juried Exhibition, you will find original, high-quality works by various regional artists, many of whom are Sawtooth students and instructors. Our Spotlight exhibition inspires pride and support for the talented, dedicated, cross-disciplinary Piedmont Triad community of artists. Most of the works will be available for purchase throughout the show. The exhibition is free and open to the public.

On Saturday, December 7, 2024, Spotlight expands into a Holiday Market with artist vendors, hands-on activities, craft demonstrations, and fun for the whole family!
Artists from across the region will fill the studios across Sawtooth for a spirited holiday market like no other. Offering a variety of handcrafted items, including ceramics, jewelry, textiles, painting, photography, and woodworking, these artists make it easy to find something for everyone on your list.
Applications are now open for artists interested in showcasing their work at 2024’s Sawtooth Spotlight! You can apply for the Juried Exhibition, Holiday Market, or both using the link below.
Last year’s juried exhibition, featuring 90 works by 56 artists, was a massive celebration of our artistic community. Our one-day Holiday Market was a resounding success, with over 800 guests and 54 vendors generating a significant economic impact. This year promises to be even better!
We invite artists working in various disciplines to apply. A jury of practicing artists, educators, and art lovers scores applications in three categories: craftsmanship, creativity and originality, and elements of design.
Our Juried Exhibition will be on view from Saturday, November 23, 2024, through Saturday, February 1, 2025. Our Holiday Market will be on Saturday, December 7, 2024 from 11 am – 4 pm, with a donor preview from 10 am – 11 am.
Applications are due by 11:59 p.m. on Monday, September 2. A $5 application fee applies.

The world would be a far less interesting place without the contributions of visual artists. No matter the medium, visual art enriches the human experience.
For 78 years our studios have united generations through the act of creating. As Sawtooth looks to its future, we aim to expand on existing partnerships to continue to serve youth and those impacted by critical illness through our Youth and Art + Wellness Outreach programs. We believe that inability to pay should never be a hindrance to the benefits of visual art, but we need your help!
Tuition received for classes and workshops offered through Sawtooth covers just over half of the actual cost. Funds raised through Sawtooth Spotlight will help offset the operating costs of providing the high-quality instruction and visual art experiences the community has come to expect from Sawtooth.
