Katie Williams

Katie joined the Sawtooth board of directors in October 2021. A native of Virginia, she first came to Winston-Salem in 2012 to pursue a Master’s Degree in English from Wake Forest. She then worked for several years in Development at the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation before returning to Wake Forest, where she currently serves as Assistant Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations.

Just before the pandemic, and with no experience or talent as an artist, Katie enrolled in her first class at Sawtooth. What she thought would be a daunting class turned out to be an eye-opening experience where she learned new skills and discovered firsthand the value of artistic exploration. She looks forward to taking more drawing, painting, and ceramics classes at SSVA in the years to come.

Katie enjoys cooking, doing yoga, and hiking with her boyfriend Jonathan–whom she met in that first Sawtooth class–and their black lab mix Rory.
