Bud Martin
Bud graduated with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Texas Tech University. After graduation, he worked for Mobil Oil in several US locations. In 1990, he moved to North Carolina and has been developing and leading the manufacture of art products with Hunt Manufacturing and Speedball Art Products.
A significant portion of that time has been working hands on with artists and educators to develop safe art supplies. He became familiar with many of processes and techniques that artists utilize and has provided guidance and training in the proper use of these products. He is a member of the board of ACMI (Art and Creative Materials Institute), an association of art supply manufacturers promoting safe art products. He has recently semiretired to spend more time with his family and his personal art pursuits, particularly music, ceramics and printmaking.
Bud and his wife Lori live in Yadkin County where they raised their two daughters on a small farm. Bud has been a member of the Misty River bluegrass band for 19 years and has recorded 3 projects with the band.
