NEW! 6112. An Introduction to Tintype Printing

Introduced in 1851 by Frederick Scott Archer, wet plate collodion became the dominant photographic process until the 1880s. In this one-day workshop, learn the basics of the wet plate process combined with the ease of using modern darkroom enlargers. Students should bring both positive transparencies as well as negatives. Students may use traditional slides or chromes, from 35mm to 4”x5”. Tintypes can also be made from digital files printed onto transparency.? Students interested in using positive transparencies made by an ink-jet printer should contact the instructor for printing guidelines (jbrunjes@josephbrunjes.com)
