Mindfulness and Photography
Mindfulness is deliberately paying attention to things we normally would not even notice, and becoming aware of our present moment experience as it arises, non-judgmentally, and with compassion and kindness. Mindful photography is mindfulness applied to the medium of photography. Simply put, photography is a great way to practice slowing down and looking skillfully at the world we live in and the people who share that world with us. Mindful photography invites us to pause, to focus, and to notice beauty in the mundane and every day. Mindful photography can also reduce stress while activating our body’s built-in calming response.
