Impressionist Landscapes in Acrylic | Ages 9-12 | HOMESCHOOL
Claude Monet, Auguste Renoir, and Berthe Morisot - Come learn about these famous Impressionist artists, and more, as we explore the incredible art movement from 19th century France and create our own impressionist landscapes with acrylic paints! We will learn about value, shape, and form. We will discuss color mixing and optical blending, as well. In addition to studio painting, we will also embrace the impressionist tradition of painting outdoors as we head outside to create thumbnail sketches.
After this course, students should be able to utilize techniques vital to impressionism such as visual measuring and optical blending. Students should also be able to describe the general history, keystone artists, and basic characteristics of the impressionist movement.
