In this two day Master Class we will design, create, fire and finish pieces of wearable sculpture that combine the strength of metal clay with the bold colors of glass. We will use an envelope method, which I developed after being frustrated with traditional glass and clay methods, to securely marry the clay and glass. This allows for a strong bond between the materials, while using a sufficient amount of clay to both enhance and frame the glass. Starting with a basic understanding of the method, students can push the design possibilities with embellishment and their own creativity.
Students should bring: 30+g of PMC Flex, standard toolkit, work surface, textures, press molds, etc.
A kit fee of $15 will be collected by the instructor during the workshop.
