C. Traditional Hand Tools Series: Bench Hooks
Learn the skills and techniques of traditional woodworking while building your very own hand tools, in this ongoing series of workshops.
Bench hooks come in a variety of shapes and sizes, but the purpose they serve is important to the traditional woodworker. They get their name from the fact that they “hook” to the side of the bench so that you can apply hand pressure to your workpiece for sawing, chiseling, planing, and other operations. In this class, students would build the traditional hook which consists of two separate smaller hooks that can adjust for workpiece length. The class is open to students ages 14 and up. Masks and social distancing are required in this and all Sawtooth classes.
