A. Traditional Hand Tools Series: Marking Gauge

Learn the skills and techniques of traditional woodworking while building your very own hand tools, in this ongoing series of workshops.

The marking gauge is used for scribing an accurate line in the long-grain direction (with the grain) and is essential for stock dimensioning as well as laying out joinery. There are many applications of the marking gauge, and it is one of the most fundamental tools of the traditional shop. The class is open to students ages 14 and up. Masks and social distancing are required in this and all Sawtooth classes.
