Intro to Bronze and Copper Metal Clay
If you've explored silver metal clay (or even if you haven't!) you might be curious about working with base metal clays... copper, bronze and their variations. This class explores the basics of working with copper and bronze metal clays. Base metal clays handle differently and have more complicated firing requirements than silver clay, but conquering these few hurdles will result in beautiful pieces in the warm tones of base metals. Learn about conditioning, shaping, attaching, refining, and firing base metal clay pieces. A materials fee is payable at registration and includes materials, including copper and bronze clay, use of tools and firings. Some metal clay experience is helpful but enthusiastic beginners are welcome.
