This Korean method of applying thin sheets of pure gold to silver and other metals gives great design and pattern options and raises the value of a silver object at a low cost. Done with heat and pressure, thin gold foil is placed on the silver piece and a polished steel burnisher is used to press it permanently in place while the silver is being heated on a hot plate. You’ll love the mixed metal effect that the technique imparts, and additional contrast can be provided by placing a dark patina on the silver which highlights the yellow gold. A kit fee of $43 is payable to the instructor during class and includes all materials and supplies. Ages 16 to adult.
