Keum-Boo Workshop
This Korean method of applying thin sheets of pure gold to silver and other metals gives great design and pattern options and raises the value of a silver object at a low cost. Done with heat and pressure, thin gold foil is placed on the silver piece and a polished steel burnisher is used to press it permanently in place while the silver is being heated on a hot plate. You’ll love the mixed metal effect that the technique imparts, and additional contrast can be provided by placing a dark patina on the silver which highlights the yellow gold. A kit fee of $43 is payable to the instructor during class and includes all materials and supplies. Masks and social distancing are required in this and all Sawtooth classes. Limited to six students, ages 16 to adult.
