Beginning Glass Beadmaking
This glass beadmaking class will set a firm foundation of skills and take beginners through all the basics of glass bead making using a benchtop torch. Cover torch and studio safety and learn about creating glass beads around a mandrel. Start with the traditional round bead, then increase skills by learning to use other tools to shape the beads and apply other forms of glass such as stringers and frit to embellish the surface of the bead. Repeat students are welcome. Soft glass COE 104 is used in the beadmaking classes and a pack of glass rods is included in the fee. Other optional materials discussed in class. This section is open to ages 18+.
