Heather Romano

Heather Romano is an acrylic and oil painter living in Winston-Salem. She graduated from New Mexico State University with a degree in English and taught at the middle school level prior to relocating to North Carolina. Currently, her studies have shifted to graphic design.

As a product of her interests and education, she is most inspired with the intersection of art and storytelling. Her personal work explores the feminine spirit in its many forms, and her paintings draw on mythology, folklore, and the culture of the Southwest where she grew up. Most recently, her work was featured at K Space Contemporary in Corpus Christi, Texas, as a part of the Día de los Muertos Festival.

Years spent as a teacher have helped her to hone exceptional instructional practices, and she combines that with her lifelong passion for art in the hopes of opening new creative pathways for others.
