Intro to Fine Silver Metal Clay
This class provides a thorough grounding in the skills and techniques for success with this amazing medium, silver metal clay. This eight-week format breaks things into manageable bites, allows time to digest the material and extra project work time during and outside of class! Use silver metal clay (including the brand new Project X clay) to create beautiful jewelry projects you'll want to wear and show off! Bonnie will guide you through the steps while you learn techniques including rolling, texturing, cutting, carving, sculpting, molding, refining, firing and polishing. All the projects are designed to allow for an enormous amount of creative variation. Discuss firing processes and practice simple butane torch firing in addition to kiln firing. This course is perfect for beginners, and great for students who want to repeat the basics and create more wonderful pieces under the guidance of a metal clay pro!
A materials fee of $150 will be collected during registration and includes all basic materials (silver metal clay) and use of tools and firings.
