Organic Ring in PMC - Workshop
This is a beautiful way to make a one-of-a-kind ring in solid silver set with a gemstone. This organic wrap ring will evoke floral ideas, and you may embellish the ring with a cabochon set in a soldered bezel. Use the magical medium of silver metal clay to form your ring. Then the dried silver clay is placed into a kiln and fired where the particles sinter and become solid silver metal! Learn about sizing rings while using silver metal clay and soldering bezel cups to create easy stone settings. Students will polish and set their stones, then wear home your creation at the end of the day. A ($90) kit fee will be paid to the instructor during class and includes 25g of PMC .950 Sterling Clay, all materials, supplies, use of tools and firings. This class is appropriate for all levels, though some metal clay experience is helpful. Class limited to just six students, so sign up soon! Available for ages 16 through adult.
