Free and open to the general public, “Art in the Afternoon” will take place on Saturday, November 9 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at the Sawtooth School (251 N. Spruce Street). No reservations are required; attendees can drop in any time during the afternoon to take part in fun, hands-on art activities and watch demonstrations across a wide range of art forms such as glass, wood, metals, painting and pottery. Instructors will be on hand to provide information about upcoming youth classes, and a drawing will be held for free Sawtooth memberships.
In addition to the school’s art courses for adults, Sawtooth offers youth programs for students from pre-K through high school. “Some parents don’t realize that we have art classes and workshops for kids throughout the entire year in addition to our summer art camps,” said Youth Program Coordinator Nannette Davis. “We also offer adult & child workshops, Friday evening ‘Parents Night Out’ classes, and a variety of other options that are ideal for families with children. We thought a free open house would be the ideal way to give parents and their children a first-hand look at what’s available at Sawtooth.”
