662. Intro to Photoshop Elements

This introductory class will start you on your way to editing and manipulating your own digital pictures using the popular image editing program, Adobe Photoshop Elements. You will learn how to use powerful editing tools to color-correct photos, apply filter techniques, and crop photos to print at home. This class is a good introduction to the more powerful and more costly Adobe Photoshop program. Class limited to six students.

6017. Dynamic Perspectives and Points of View

All photographs have a point of view but what makes that point of view special? What makes it interesting? It is surprising just how much of an impact shifting your camera a few feet can have on the images that you capture. We will examine this theory in an effort to produce more dynamic and effective phtographs.

606. Intro to Photography (35mm Film and Digital SLR)
Instructor Will Parham
Exposure, metering, electronic flash and filters for color corrections/creative effects are all covered in this class. Understanding the basic compositional principles will push your images to the next level. This class is hands-on and will include shooting assignments in downtown Winston-Salem and elsewhere. You will supply a 35mm film or digital camera (with manual controls), the instruction booklet for the camera and a roll of slide film (for film cameras—either 200 or 400 ISO), and we’ll supply the rest.

607. Intro to Digital Photography (Point & Shoot Camera)

Learn to maximize your point and shoot digital cameras with this two session basic digital courses. Students will learn the basic functionality and features of their point and shoot digital camera. Students will also be given tips on how to improve their images through color balancing for different lighting situations. Students are required to bring their point and shoot digital cameras, manuals and all accessories.

Prerequisite: Intro to Photography or Intro to Digital Photography

In this intermediate level course, you will learn how to use your flash and simple retouching techniques. The class will also include discussions on night photography and light painting; RAW image capture and advanced file processing; printing techniques; and, simple color management. Intermediate Photography will take your photographs to the next level
