Parallel Paintings from Life

Sawtooth School for Visual Art, in collaboration with artists Coleen Hester and Cathy Green, presents Parallel Paintings from Life, on display October 6 through November 15 in the Redding Corridor Gallery. An opening reception will be held on Friday, October 6th from 5:00–7:00 PM. This opening reception is free and open to the public.

Parallel Paintings from Life features a collection from two great friends, Coleen Hester and Cathy Green, who share a passion for oil painting. Hester and Green believe that painting from life is the best way to learn how to really see and experience colors and values in their truest form. Both women are accomplished studio painters, applying their experiences from plein air painting to an indoor setting. Together they provide a journey of sights and scenes from their native Western North Carolina as well as from their travels, including the south of France, in this collaborative show.

Sawtooth is located upstairs in the Milton Rhodes Center for the Arts at 251 N. Spruce Street. For more information visit or call (336) 723-7395.
