In this beginners wire wrapping
workshop, learn tips and techniques of creating wearable jewelry with wire.
Kathy shows how to use a jig, as well as traditional types of wire work
with pliers. See how to incorporate beads and stones into your work also.
Bring any supplies you'd like to experiment with. Most materials are included
in the workshop fee.

5032. Bead and Pearl Stringing
Instructor Kathy Young Albertelli
Learn to string pearls and other
types of beads. Using a knotting process, complete a beautiful necklace
in this one-day workshop. Through discussion, demonstration and lots of
hands-on practice, learn the basics of the art of creating a skillfully
crafted piece of beaded jewelry. Students who've had bead stringing experience
may proceed at their own pace. Please bring any beads and/or stringing
supplies you want to work with. First project materials are included in
the fee. Other beads and supplies will be available for purchase during
the workshop.

5045. Surface Manipulation of
Metal
Instructor Betty Helen Longhi
This workshop will explore various
techniques of producing textures on metal, including roll printing, hammer
texturing, carving, dremel tool techniques, stamping and others. We will
use nonferrous metal (copper, brass, nu-gold, silver) and will concentrate
on producing samples of different techniques. Fee includes some materials.
This workshop would be fine for beginners or those with some metalsmithing
experience. Adding surface interest to your piece can transform simple
forms into elegant ones. You won't want to miss the valuable tips and information
Betty has to share. Fee includes some materials.

PMC Charm Bracelet
Instructor Sara Sloan Stine
This workshop is designed especially
as an introduction to the medium of PMC, (but really fun for those with
experience too.) You'll create at least four different charms of pure silver,
using various techniques of texturing, carving, stamping or sculpting the
PMC. We'll even put some enamel on one charm as a color accent. You'll
also learn how the PMC is fired, and polished in a tumbler. We'll finish
the day by attaching your unique charms to a charm bracelet (included in
the fee) or you may bring one from home. What a great way to experiment
and have a finished piece all in one day. Fee includes all materials. Bring
a bag lunch.
