Dear Sawtooth Friends,

Moving time is here!  The time to leave the Sawtooth Building to make way for the renovations to our space has arrived.  It seemed so far away when we began talking about it.  How time flies when we’re making art!

The construction will take about eighteen months.  During that time, Sawtooth School will be temporarily housed in different locations.  Let me share some of the details:

Ceramics, Metals, Glass, Wood and Fibers will all be housed at The Children’s Home.  The Children’s Home has provided us with a lovely building that will accommodate our classes very well.  Directions to this location are at the bottom of this letter.

Drawing, Painting, Photography and Youth will all be offered at The Enrichment Center which is located at the foot of Marshall Street.  The address is 1006 SOUTH Marshall Street.  The Sawtooth Building is on North Marshall Street so this means that The Enrichment Center is on the south side of Business 40.  The staff at The Enrichment Center has been so accommodating.  The classrooms are lovely and the parking is plentiful!  What more could we ask?

Our offices and our Taste of Art classes will be located downtown at 305 West 4th Street.  This is across the street from Mellow Mushroom and The Nissen Building.  We will be located in the same building as Brew Nerds Coffee (formerly Sin Coffee).  Just check in with Julie Morgan, our registrar, in the glassed in office on the left when you enter the building.  Our phone number will remain the same at (336)723-7395.

Please, help us through this transition period by continuing to support the Sawtooth School as you have in the past.  The staff and faculty appreciates your patience.

We look forward to starting this transition toward a shiny, new Sawtooth School space.  We are excited about the changes and trust you are too!

Directions to classes at The Children’s Home: The Children’s Home is located at 1001 Reynolda Road.  This is very close to Hanes Park.  When you turn in at the driveway of The Children’s Home, you will see directional signage for Sawtooth School.  At the first four way intersection (before you pass the Administration Building on the left), you will turn left.  Follow this road for approximately 0.2 miles.  The Sawtooth Annex is the last building on the right before you reach the Sports Field.  There will be signage directing you to the parking area reserved for Sawtooth students.
