JoAnne Vernon Sawtooth School for Visual Art Endowment Fund
When JoAnne Vernon took the helm as Executive Director of Sawtooth in June 2012, she quickly developed a strategic plan, began cultivating relationships with donors and funders and assembled a supportive and knowledgeable staff. Fueled by her burning passion for visual art and her undying love for Sawtooth, JoAnne established aggressive goals that she inevitably met and often exceeded. She held herself and other to a high standard and today Sawtooth is a better place because of it.
After JoAnne stepped down at the end of the year due to health reasons, the board created the JoAnne Vernon Sawtooth School for Visual Art Endowment Fund at the Winston-Salem Foundation to honor her legacy. We invite you to help further JoAnne’s work to keep Sawtooth thriving as the Triad’s premier community visual art school. You can donate on the Winston-Salem Foundation website by clicking this link.
JoAnne often talked about sending a “love note” to someone who had volunteered for a Sawtooth fundraiser, or to an instructor who was sick, or a board member who had been promoted. It was her way of saying thanks, or letting that person know she was thinking of them, or helping celebrate someone else’s success. If you’d like to thank JoAnne for her contributions to Sawtooth and wish her well, you’re in the right place. You may leave your own “love note” in the comments section below.
Thanks to JoAnne and her inspiring leadership, we are looking forward to a bright future at Sawtooth, and we’re glad you’re part of it!
