What are Youth Summer Art Camps?
Summer Art Camps focus on art fundamentals of clay, drawing, and painting in every week, but also may include other great media such as weaving, printmaking, photo, and wood.  Each week-long half-day camp features an exciting theme created to inspire the imagination of each child.  Camps are available for ages 4-13 with classes divided according to age group into preschool, K-2, 3rd-5th, and 6-8th.

A child may take Sawtooth's youth classes beginning at the age of four.

How do I apply for a scholarship?
Sawtooth attempts to provide art instruction for all interested students, regardless of their ability to pay for the course.  Fill out a Scholarship application completely and mail or deliver to the Sawtooth office by the deadline date noted on the scholarship form.  Scholarship applications are reviewed by the SSVA staff two weeks in advance of the beginning date of the course session.  The coordinator of the studio program in which the scholarship is sought will be responsible for notifying the applicant of the award.

Does SSVA have an artist-in-residence program?
Sawtooth does not have an on-going artist-in-residence program.  However, we occasionally do have grants which include specific artist-in-residence.

Is SSVA a degree-granting school?
No.  However, teachers desiring to take Sawtooth classes for re-certification credit will be provided with a certificate of completion documenting length and content of class.  Students/teachers must request, in advance, information on applicability of class for re-certification from their LEA.  One hundred percent attendance is required.  Instructor must provide the class coordinator with the name of the student.  SSVA does work collaboratively with area colleges and universities to provide class credit for their students for certain courses.

Students who fulfill all the requirements of a course may receive a certificate upon request.  One hundred percent attendance and advance notice required.
