Deck the Sawtooth Halls

Every December, Sawtooth School holds its Annual Arts and Crafts Sale.  From inexpensive stocking stuffers to more elaborate works of art, Deck the Sawtooth Halls has something for everyone.  Featuring crafts from artisans, crafts-persons, students and faculty, you will find handcrafted pottery and jewelry, hand-woven items, paintings, photography, holiday ornaments, homemade soaps and more.  Shop in an atmosphere complete with holiday sounds, and decorations.  Experience the joy of the season, camaraderie and fun while obtaining one-of-a-kind art.  Proceeds from this annual event benefit programs and scholarships at the Sawtooth School for Visual Art.

"A Thousand Words:  Photographs by Vietnam Veterans" -
Special traveling exhibition

At the height of the Vietnam war, 500,000 American servicemen and women were stationed in and around Vietnam.  "A Thousand Words:  Photographs by Vietnam Veterans" is a collective effort by the photography department of the Sawtooth Center for Visual Art, Vietnam veterans and related organizations, local high school and college students, and volunteers to provide a venue to, as one vet said, "show what I couldn't say".   For more information about this traveling exhibit, click here.

Sawtooth School receives general operating and project support from the North Carolina Arts Council, Arts in Education program, Visual Arts and New Realities programs and funds awarded through the Grassroots Initiative Program.  Sawtooth also receives partial project support from the Winston-Salem Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, and funds distributed by The Arts Council of Winston-Salem and Forsyth County
