The Mindfulness of Instant Photography: Polaroid Returns!
If you grew up in the 1970s and 1980s, it is very likely that Polaroid cameras played a big role in documenting your life. The beauty of a Polaroid is its simplicity in capturing a single moment, the magic that appears before your eyes when you watch the developing picture. Although Polaroid stopped production of its film in 2008, thanks to the Impossible Project, you can still buy film for two types of Polaroid cameras. In this class, we will spend one night talking discussing the current cameras and film available for instant photography, and how mindfulness plays a significant role in the process of creating instant images. Each student will be given a loaded Polaroid camera to rent free of charge for one week. In the second class, we will share our work. There is a $25 fee for film included in the price of the class. Class is limited to 6 participants.
