MCAS
Mokume Gane with Metal Clay
Over two days you will learn two separate New Mokume Gane techniques to create a pendant and pair of earrings using Art Clay Silver and Copper. This is an advanced workshop where basic skills are assumed (rolling, texturing, filing and sanding). The pendant will use a layered and twisted combination of metals, and the earrings will be textured copper with inlaid silver. How to get disparate metals to cooperate will be taught, as well as techniques, firing schedules and polishing. Each piece is unique and both will be completed during the workshop. Because of the special firing times, pieces will be available Saturday night or Sunday morning. A kit fee of $30 will be collected by the instructor during the workshop. Kit includes 20g Art Clay Silver and 50g Art Clay Copper. This workshop is part of the Metal Clay Artists Symposium and requires the purchase of the General Registration. Please put the MCAS GENERAL REGISTRATION in your cart prior to purchasing workshops or enrolling in the free Sunday Technique Discovery Workshop. The MCAS GENERAL REGISTRATION fee ($55) is non-refundable. Workshop fees, less a $20 processing fee, are refundable prior to June 1, 2018, if notified in writing to metals@sawtooth.org. If you need to cancel after June 1, 2018, please notify us and we will make every effort to fill your space. If we can fill your space, we will issue you a refund less a $20 processing fee. Payment in full is required at the time of registration. Workshop fees do not include travel, meals, or accommodations.
