Glass Fusing and Slumping
Let's explore the art of colorful glass by learning how to fuse and slump glass. You will learn the basic skills to make glass plates, coasters, and bowls! We will start out by teaching you glass cutting basics. Students will purchase their own glass materials and supplies, discussed at the first class. Please go online and explore some fused and slumped glass work. Pinterest and Google searches will turn up thousands of inspiring images. Realize, too that the glass that goes into these pieces is specialized fusing glass, and can be more expensive than regular colored "stained" glass, depending on the size and type of glass you choose. The instructor will give you source information for purchasing the glass that goes into your chosen projects. Glass work will be fired at Sawtooth. Advanced students may explore more challenging pieces and techniques.
