Intro to Basket Making (3113)
Come join the fun of learning the basics of basket making by making the Homestead Basket. During this workshop participants will learn the "weave and chase" technique, the "stop and start" technique and unique border possibilities, which will allow the participants to explore other sizes and styles once the techniques are learned. Sawtooth will provide the flat and round reed, tools, supplies and handouts needed to make the Homestead Basket. Tricks of the basket weaving trade, the rich heritage of basket making and safety tips will be discussed. A $15 supply fee is included in the cost of the class.
