Celebrating Old Salem’s 250th

old salem 250thSawtooth will join Old Salem in celebrating their 250th anniversary by offering classes and workshops throughout the fall inspired by the art, history and culture of Salem in 1766. Creative sessions will include traditional Moravian pottery, stained glass Moravian stars; overshot weaving, heirloom pumpkin watercolor, Fraktur lettering, and darkroom photography.  Younger artists will enjoy making paper Moravian stars and the adult/child candle making workshop.

You have another chance to celebrate this special occasion next week at Illuminate Salem.  Old Salem Museums & Gardens is presenting a concert each evening on August 11-13 in Salem Square.  A different local musical ensemble will perform each night beginning at 7:30 followed by a magical light show created by Norman Coates of the Winston Salem Light Project that will tell the story of Salem.
