Sawtooth School for Visual Art will open the doors to all its studios and invite the public in to enjoy Art in the Afternoon on Saturday, October 1 from 1 to 3 PM. This free community open house features demonstrations, hands-on art activities, and information on fall classes and workshops for adults, teens and kids. Guests are invited to tour the school, located in the historic 100-year-old building that housed the very first Hanes Hosiery plant, enjoy Metal Clay Expressions and Back to Broadway, the exhibitions in Sawtooth’s Galleries, and register for complimentary Sawtooth membersip giveaways.
We are having a printmaking open house during Art in the Afternoon in two rooms with two presses and lots of printmaking going on! Mono(one-of-a-kind) printmaking will be the activity with Mona Wu, Leslie Smith and Drew Mash. Learn about printmaking while meeting our print studio instructors.
In our painting studio we will be hosting a Paint Out / Paint In, with three instructors: Viktoria Majestic, Jason Lancaster and Bill Gramley. They will all be working from the same still life, with different mediums. We’ll get to see how differently they turn out from various artistic perspectives!
Free and open to the public. Sawtooth is located upstairs in the Milton Rhodes Center for the Arts at 251 N. Spruce Street in downtown Winston-Salem. For more information call 336.723.7395.
