We will open the doors to all our studios for Art in the Afternoon on Saturday, September 19 from 1 to 4 PM. This community open house will feature demonstrations, hands-on art activities, and information on fall classes and workshops for adults, teens and kids.
Guests are invited to tour the school, located in the historic 100-year-old building that housed the very first Hanes Hosiery plant; enjoy Artist Altered Books, the exhibition in Sawtooth’s Davis Gallery; and register for complimentary Sawtooth membership giveaways. There is no charge to attend this family-friendly event.
“I still run into people who have never been inside Sawtooth School and don’t know what it is we do,” said Kevin Mundy, the school’s Director of Sales and Marketing. “Art in the Afternoon gives everyone in the Winston-Salem area a fun, fast and free way to check us out. No obligations, no strings attached. Hopefully, we’ll whet their appetite to come in and take a class,” he said. “Most people are more creative than they think they are,” Mundy added.
