A common sense approach to calligraphy. Introducing a variety of tools, and acknowledging the power of pattern. We will take a close look at the 15th century italic hand, in pursuit of a method of study, a way of seeing. Combining stroke, repetition, rhythm, and texture, we will build our relationships and work with families of letters. We'll explore giving letters a place of value in the tradition of page design and a simple bound book. Sound like therapy? It is! Supplies provided for first class.
